SOUTH SWIM CARES WHAT GOES INTO THE AIR, EARTH, AND WAVES.
We are driven by strategies put in place to limit the negative impacts of the production process, starting with our chosen fabric and ending with our packaging and shipping methods.
Did you know 85% of our clothes end up in landfills?
South Swim is made in small batches to ensure the highest quality with no over-production. We work with fully integrated production based out of Los Angeles, including R&D and Quality Control. Our factory prioritizes good health for all parties involved including workers, the environment, and our consumers.
The fabric we use adheres to the strictest environmental standards, including ISO 14001 CERTIFICATION, OEKO-TEX CERTIFICATION, EU REACH REGULATION, and CM 4SUSTAINABILITY.
ISO 14001 CERTIFICATION
ISO 14001 is an internationally agreed standard that sets the requirements for environmental management systems. These in turn help organizations improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste.
OEKO-TEX CERTIFICATION
This label certifies that every component of the product, from the fabric to the thread and accessories, has been rigorously tested against a list of up to 350 toxic chemicals. Trusted Worldwide. Since 1992, STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® has been the world's best-known label for textile safety.
EU REACH REGULATION
REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) is an important European Union regulation that addresses the production and use of chemical substances in the manufacture of products. It then evaluates the impact of these products on both human health and the environment.
CM 4SUSTAINABILITY
The Chemical Management 4Sustainability certificate declares the Company’s implementation of the ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) MRSL (Manufacturing Restricted Substances List). This is a list of chemical substances banned from intentional use in the processing of textile materials.
Shipping
When shipping carriers transport goods between locations, the transportation methods release greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere. Shipping is an essential aspect of most businesses, but carbon emissions from shipping negatively impact the planet and contribute to climate change. We partner with Cloverly for our customers to have the option at checkout to match any transaction with a carbon credit in real-time.
PAckaging
All packaging is 100% curbside recyclable, and many items home compostable. Thats the mailer, garment bag, tissue, and all stickers and labels including adhesives!
We strictly use packaging made from 100% FCS-certified, recycled materials and soy-based inks.
We purposely do not include suit pouches to save our earth on resources and waste, plus our suits are perfectly packable!
Suit up to save our seas
For every purchase, 1% of proceeds go to theoceancleanup.com to help preserve the waters that sustain us.
We are inspired to think creatively and collectively for a more equal, healthier and sustainable world.
